Reading PtP wireless link metrics
There are a couple of nanobeams. and nanostations. Each device maintains link statistics. There's two ways to collect this data.
1. AirOS
Each device serves the web application AirOS for management. Statistics can be requested from undocumented CGI script paths /status.cgi and /ifstats.cgi Data is returned in JSON format. Each request needs to be authenticated the device's configured username and password.
2. UISP
UISP (uqiquiti internet service provider?) is a web application providing centralised management of ubiquiti devices. Needs a linux box - or ubiquiti can host it for you. Compared to AirOS, UISP provides a more complete HTTP API that, a ubiquiti staff member wrote in a forum post wrote, the official Android and iOS clients speak to.
Which one?
I asked in chat if the devices will be configured using AirOS. Dave wrote back:
dave: manual config for now
dave: unms is tempting
I'd be surprised if the official central management system isn't used at some point; the current plan is for 14 devices to be installed.
